Charity Cases VS Spotlight Stars

• enter the underprivileged looks •

You know the feeling of choking back vomit that you had back in the days of prom when you saw someone in a heinous dress? And then that feeling of butterflies and sheer jealousy that you got when you watched that popular girl saunter in wearing the most glam gown there ever was?

Fast forward a few years, and plop yourself behind a laptop screen where you are conveniently next to a bag of skinny pop… There you will find a young woman frantically ranking the looks from this year’s Met Gala. Now I must say, 2016 was a year of disappointment for me. I’m pretty sure I saw more worst dressed than best dressed, and mind you, that was me putting these looks into perspective of everyone’s outfits.

Per usual, I cried tears of joy when I finally saw Blake Lively’s look. It’s like she wants to snatch the title of Queen B away from Leighton Meester and give it to herself IRL, because her red carpet looks never fail. Also per usual, I cried tears of horror as I saw Beyonce’s look for the gala. Don’t get me wrong, she is fabulous and talented, but she definitely tends to make me cringe with her Met Gala looks and this year was no exception. (PSA: if you haven’t seen the meme comparing her outfit to the rough endoplasmic reticulum, then please do yourself a favor and head to twitter now for a good old fashioned L O L.)

Incase you wanted to compare my rankings to yours, here are the slideshows of the worst and then the best dressed at the 2016 Met Gala. Note that my all-time favorite T Swizzle severely disappointed, so you know that bias was not a factor here. Anyways, kudos to everyone who didn’t make me rip my hair out and beg God to take their ticket for next year and give it to me.

SOS… These are a no from me.

SOS… I need these.

Tweet me @zoebrine what you thought of this year’s looks. Who would you toss the Queen B headband to? Who would you throw to the wolves in hopes that the wolves would eat their outfit so we would never have to see it again?
