Shop Local

• shop fresh, look fresh, be fresh •

I have always loved eating healthy and supporting local businesses. From a co-op to various farmers markets, you can support farmers and people near you! The food you are getting will always be in season, which also means great prices. I love going to the farmers market in Gainesville every Wednesday with friends to try samples, try/buy new products, and even grab a bite to eat from one of the restaurants or food set-ups available! I highly recommend checking out ways to shop local in your area; some cities even have multiple farmers markets!

Tips for shopping local:

– Familiarize yourself with prices. Walk around to the different stands to know which deal is the best. Always make one round before making a purchase!

– Go with friends! It’s easy to get swept into spending more than you want because you will make such inspiring conversation with many of the people selling there.

– Go often! Getting to know the people there and becoming a regular at their stand can often mean that they may give you a little bit of special treatment. It also means you are making an honest and awesome connection. I have learned so much from people at farmers markets!

– Wear something cute, comfy, and weather appropriate. Make sure you know how long you are staying and what it’s like outside so you don’t get grouchy because you’re sweating or your feet are dying. You want your time to be as enjoyable as possible.

Here are some shots from my market adventure today with my friend Caitlin. Happy eating! xx
