Spotted: Leopard Printed Coats

While most Floridians spend the miscellaneous cold days of our ‘winters’ bundled up inside, under layers of blankets and fuzzy socks, I am quite different. The other day was a low of 20º and a high of 40º, and personally, I was eager to finally embrace a true moment of my favorite season. After ordering bagel sandwiches at Delicomb, and then having many failed attempts at grabbing some coffee and a study table at one of the multiple Bold Beans in Jacksonville, my friend Meghan and I perched ourselves on steps outdoors to enjoy our 2PM breakfast and cappuccinos. We then, in good fashion, proceeded to disregard our academic pursuits of the day.

This outfit transitioned perfectly from my afternoon to an evening at the mall, and then later for when I went out to dinner. As you can see in the quick snaps we managed to grab, my look was a lot of layering and bold mixing. I do, however, tend to like risks so I was up for the challenge. There are so many ways that animal print can go wrong, making finding a classically cut coat and simultaneously maintaining adequate skin coverage key. I tied together pink, the statement sleeve, and the anti-cleavage (aka turtlenecks) to really show my love for the recent trends and also give a hat’s off to my eternal style icon: Twiggy.

All of the items I’m wearing are no longer for sale, so I’ve created a spread with alternatives that create a similar look while also maintaining similar quality and pricing! I’ve tagged the original brands in my Instagram post on @zoebrine.

Coat: Rebecca Minkoff  | Turtleneck: Madewell | Dress: Lord and Taylor | Boots: Tory Burch  | Tights: Urban Outfitters | Bag: Coach | Watch: Kate Spade

I live for these random cold fronts, and can’t wait until the day that NYC kidnaps me and makes me a slave to the fashion community and cold weather… I will gladly accept the torture.
