Netflix is notorious for being the real reason why our homework isn’t done, we didn’t get any sleep, or we ‘couldn’t go out tonight’. We have our all-time favorites and current obsessions that literally take over our lives. I’m not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing for us introverts, but for argument’s sake, I am going to go with good… for now.
There are lots of shows out there that are “binge worthy”, and I am hoping today to utilize my extensive pathetic knowledge of shows in an effort to bring you something new. Below are some binge worthy shows that are comparable to the ones we always hear about.
If you LOVED…
- Gossip Girl then you will probably love 90210 as well! Another CW hit that focuses on the glamorous lives of over privileged high school and college aged students. The main difference between the two is the zip code. Unlike Gossip Girl, 90210 has a west coast flair. Let’s just say it’s less Wallstreet and more Hollywood.
- Pretty Little Liars then you will probably enjoy One Tree Hill. Although it’s not filled with the same level of mystery, there is the same sense of drama as the series goes on. I will say that this is one where there may be more seasons than necessary, but that didn’t stop me from finishing it.
- Reign then you will love The Tudors! I actually have yet to start Reign myself (I know, I can’t believe me either), but I am in love with The Tudors and don’t want it to end! Many reliable sources (AKA fellow Netflix binge watchers with a taste for historical fiction and drama) say that if you love one you are bound to love the other.
- Glee then you will love The Carrie Diaries. Just because The Carrie Diaries doesn’t have singing, doesn’t mean it doesn’t follow the path of various high school students facing different struggles that we are bound to relate to. Not to mention, it follows Carrie Bradshaw, who is following her dreams in an unconventional manner. It’s a fabulous prequel to Sex in the City and I wish they’d never canceled it. Ugh.
- Criminal Minds then you will die for Law and Order SVU. Mariska Hargitay was featured in Tay’s music video, Bad Blood, for a reason: she kicks ass. Only the more recent seasons are on Netflix, but they seriously rock nonetheless. The show is intense and will probably change the way you look at the world, but I don’t think that’s really a bad thing.
In the end, I’m sure you’ll manage to find something great to watch on Netflix; we all do. So curl up in some cute PJs (I got mine in the picture from Forever 21), make yourself a delicious cup of tea, and spend the day in front of your TV or laptop.
Happy binging!
